Pit Stop Culture

May 25, 2012

It's almost time to shake and bake for teammates Aric Almirola and Marcus Ambrose, as Aric took the pole for the Coca-Cola 600 with a lap of 192.940 mph Thursday night, the longest race in NASCAR.  There is a lot behind putting in a good race for your team, but 1 of the most important things you need is a solid, efficient pit crew, with a crew chief who only accepts perfection.  The average in-race pit stop is usually around 13 to 14 seconds, whereas it used to be around 8 to 9 seconds, but studies have shown those extra couple seconds help solidify 1 car over another!
